Purpose: The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including sourcing and interviewing corporate staff, enforcing company policies and practices, and identifying improvements to the employee experience. Duties and Responsibilities: Recruiting partner for all corporate and trucking positions Create onboarding plans for corporate team members, administer new team member onboarding for corporate support staff Conduct exit surveys, stay surveys and recommend action/suggestions for engagement and retention Maintain compliance with federal and state employment regulations as well as company policies and procedures Handle employee relations matters/complaints, including conducting and advising on investigations and complaint resolution. Advising on appropriate corrective counseling when necessary. Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local corporate employment requirements, I-9, EEO, OSHA and maintenance of employee files. Develop/maintain non-exempt job descriptions and ensure status changes/terminations are entered timely and properly, responding to unemployment compensation claims and representing the organization in hearings when appropriate. Respond to human resources-related inquiries Assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole, to improve the team member experience Audit files, I9s, and ensure appropriate record retention Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to team members in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievances, organizational change and other team member relations matters Coordinate employee development plans and performance management. Develop and standardize job postings and recruiting best practices to ensure optimal applicant flow. Generate internal documents such as offer letters Research and recommend new sources for active and passive recruiting. Build a network of industry contacts and association memberships as well as relationships to create an additional source of candidates. Perform other special projects as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements 2-4 years of human resources and/or recruiting experience in a retail or restaurant industry preferred Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and written with all levels of management, store employees and customers. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently under minimal supervision, while achieving goals within given time constraints Sound organizational, time-management, interviewing and interpersonal skills Must have valid Driver's License Must be able to travel up to 20% or more, with occasional overnight stays Must be able to lift and move objects weighting up to 50 pounds While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching throughout the course of the shift. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
