The Hire Solution has partnered with a prominent local non profit agency to hire for the role of Director of Finance and Administration here at the headquarters located in uptown Dallas. The ideal candidate is dynamic and will have experience in managing the Finance, Human Resources and Technology functions of a business, preferably a non profit organization. The Director of Finance and Administration should have a degree in Accounting or related field (CPA highly desired), and 5+ years managing accounting functions such as annual budget, statement of cash flows, all monthly accounting and bookkeeping, and preparation of the 990. The Director must have excellent interpersonal skills and be a team player. Must also be mindful of details and deadlines, and have the ability to communicate effectively to all levels, including the Board.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Finance:
Leads the annual operating budget process in collaboration with all key internal department leadersMonitors results for budget versus actual for the agencyConducts periodic cash flow statementsManages payroll and bookkeeping activitiesBudgets/monthly invoices for reimbursement grants (with bookkeeper support) and participation in financial reviews for government donorsRegular reconciliations between development and financial databasesSupports accounting firm in performing the annual audit and 990 tax returnWorks with the Executive Director/Board to develop, execute and report progress on the strategic planHuman Resources:
Supports organizational hiring and on-boardingManages payroll service provider, 401(k) provider and insurance brokerMaintains employee handbook, in collaboration with office managerEnsures complianceTechnology & Operations:
Overseestechnology systems and maintains relationships with external IT providersResolves day-to-day technical issues where applicableMaintains landlords and maintenance contracts for multiple locationsLease review along with the Executive DirectorResponsible for site repairs and maintenanceDevelops safety plans for operating sitesRequirements & Skills:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Economics, or FinanceExcellent communication skills, both oral and written.5+ years in leading an accounting department.Proficient in Microsoft ExcelCPA License highly desired
