The ideal candidate must be professional, highly flexible, reliable, and must exhibit a high degree of accuracy and quality in the tasks assigned. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and the tenacity to master additional software programs is essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES• Oversee the daily activities of the accounting and client teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of all major projects, month-end, and year-end reports.• Hire, train, and motivate CAAS members while supervising and delegating department tasks.• Assist in prospect discovery, follow up, fee estimates, and proposals.• On-board new clients and train assigned team members on client processes, procedures, and team roles.• Create engagement letters, change orders/requests as needed.• Evaluate, develop, and improve department controls, systems, and procedures that increase accuracy and efficiency.• Ensure all accounting processes align with GAAP and current financial reporting standards.• Analyze financial data and create reports for clients as outlined in the scope of each engagement.• Proactively identify beneficial KPIs to discuss with clients, provide value-added consulting, and potentially expand services.• Maintain accurate and complete financial records and participate in audits or reconciliations, as needed, as identified in the scope of each engagement.• Create and monitor client accounting services and special project budgets and realization to proactively identify areas needing adjustments.• Address budget/ productivity issues with team.• Monitor team capacity and proactively make recommendations to streamline team efforts.• Proactively identify and execute appropriate delegation opportunities for client and department responsibilities.• Participate with a positive team and firm-first attitude by continually communicating with managers, direct supervisor, clients, and team regarding project status and any potential difficulties in a timely manner.• Manage billings and assist with collections timely.• Address critical issues timely to avoid crisis situations.• Present educational training to staff and clients.• Assist other departments as they develop strategies, establish objectives, and make decisions that could have an impact on the CAAS business.• Keep informed about the latest developments related to client industries.• Attend appropriate professional training as approved by senior manager/partner.• Proactively identify and network with referral sources, industry associations, etc.• Actively participate in marketing activities such as networking events, writing blogs, exhibiting at tradeshows, presenting at workshops/tradeshows/lunch and learns, etc. Proactively identify and network with referral sources, industry associations, etc.
EDUCATION AND LICENSES• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.• CPA preferred.REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONSThe successful candidate will possess the following basic qualifications:• A minimum of 5 years of experience in general accounting and consolidations accounting.• Strong understanding and application of US GAAP in all major accounting areasGAAP accounting (non-profit experience desired).• Excellent leadership and communication skills.• Comfort with technology and the ever-changing technology environment.• Competence in Microsoft Office and Outlook.• Experience in cloud-based platforms including Sage, QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Enterprise (Desktop), Accounting CS, Fixed Assets CS, Engagement (Prosytems PFX), proficient in Excel.• QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification preferred.• Self-motivated, consistently follow through with commitments, take ownership of work, and be accountable for actions.• People and project management skills.• Analytical and problem-solving skills.• Effective organizational skills.• Planning and time management skills.• Scheduling and monitoring skills.• Effective verbal and written communication skills.• Effective listening skills.• Attention to detail, accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.• Judgement and decision-making/multi-tasking skills
