TAMKO Building Products LLC is seeking a Temporary Packaging Technician for the facility in Frederick, Maryland. The Temporary Packaging Technician is a member of a production team tasked with safely and efficiently executing the production of and put-away of roofing material. This employee drives gasoline, liquefied gas, or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel hook, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials.

Drive various power industrial vehicles and control movement of lifting apparatus.Unload and stack material on and off various machine, facility, and vehicle platforms by raising and lowering lifting devices.Manually unload and stack material weighing 50-75 lbs. on and off various machine, facility, and vehicle platforms, including pallets and skids, etc.Weigh materials or products and record weight on tags, labels and production schedules.Perform basic level maintenance on forklifts to include lubrication, recharge batteries, fill fuel tank and replace liquefied gas tanks.Perform daily pre-operation inspection of forklifts.Conduct inventory of goods/materials and supply production crew with materials as needed.Shovel, scrape, and clean designated areas along the production line and in the warehouse/ lots.Transport products to and from remote storage areas.Respond to upset conditions on the line to include palletizing system, material conveyance and production systems.Safely interact with the production process and equipment as trained.Work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends, and overtime as needed.Requirements
High School diploma or GED required.Valid driver's license.Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to draft simple correspondence.Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.Ability to read and respond accurately to process feedback data and make appropriate adjustments as required or directed.Physical Requirements/Work Environment

The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to position himself/herself to operate, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or or maintain heavy plant equipment. This may require climbing stairs/ladders, bending, kneeling, crawling, and/or stooping. The employee must be able to inspect equipment and detect equipment malfunctions, as well as utilize tools to repair and maintain equipment.The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. The worker may be exposed to extreme cold for periods of more than one hour where the temperature is below 32 degrees. The worker may be subjected to extreme heat for period of more than one hour where the temperature is more than 100 degrees. The worker may also be exposed to sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard above the ambient noise level. Hazards may include: proximity to moving mechanical parts or vehicles, electrical current, working in high places, and possible exposure to chemicals. The worker may be subject to fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, etc. There may be exposure to oils and other cutting fluids. The worker is required to wear steel-toed boots, hard-hat, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
