This position is for a Quality Manager in the ARKA - Bothell, WA location reporting to the Director of Quality and Operations. The Quality Manger is responsible for maintaining an effective Quality Management System (QMS) that promotes continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. This position uses knowledge of regulatory requirements to assess, document, and make recommendations for the quality of manufactured and distributed products.

The qualified applicant should have professional experience managing a quality system, preferably AS9100. This position is critical to the organization and will be involved in every aspect of the development lifecycle process, proposal/contract review, supplier quality management, product acceptance, root cause/corrective action, and overall responsible for maintaining the QMS.

Responsibilities:

Oversee, hire, and mentor all areas of quality personnel including return material (warranty), receiving inspection, final inspection, supplier quality, manufacturing quality, customer quality, and quality compliance)

Maintain and mature our AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS)

Manage quality processes and tools required to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction

Educate and train employees as to their impact in the quality management system

Manage metrics (process capability, control charts, measurement criteria) for monitoring system effectiveness and to enable managers to make sound process / product quality decisions

Perform root-cause analysis and other problem-solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements using the CAR system

Monitor vendor performance and work with Supply Chain to address non-performing suppliers

Oversee calibration, inspection programs, and internal/external quality audits

Manage the review and approval of finished products manufactured for and by the company in accordance with their approved specifications

Manage product RMA activities and supplier RMA activities as well as product recall policies and procedures for the company. Additionally, manage product compliant activities and processes

Manage all inspections and questions relating to product conformance to specifications

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in technical field or non-technical with equivalent years of experience in technical role

5+ years of relevant work experience

Experience working in an environment with Quality Management Systems standards and Regulatory Requirements

Experience reading Blueprints, Specifications, and Requirements

Quality or Manufacturing environment background

Supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Aerospace or defense industry background

Six Sigma Greenbelt or Black belt Certification

Advanced skills with MS Office software

Proven Leadership Skills - capability to Lead change across multiple business functions

Washington and Colorado state pay range:

$130,000 - $165,000

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

This position is based out of ARKA’s beautiful

Bothell, WA

campus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate, listen to, and interpret instructions, occasionally operate tools and/or machinery with hands and arms and remain stationary for extended periods of the time. This position requires the incumbent to access export-controlled information.
