THE ROLE: The qualified candidate will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the day-to-day activities associated with equipment service and maintenance. Duties and responsibilities include managing daily service operations, following of safety procedures for all personnel, facilitating process improvements and planning the effective use of materials, equipment and human resources to meet service requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the activities of all mechanics (shop and field) to ensure equipment is being properly maintained on a
timely basis and meeting customer needs for repair and service.
Serve as quality control check for all repaired equipment prior to delivery to ready line.
Conduct initial evaluation of equipment returning from rental to assess potential for chargeable damages.
Report findings to the Sales Representative or Branch Manager.
Prepare weekly fleet mileage report.
Oversee housekeeping and general condition of shop area with a focus on safety, organization and efficiency.
Develop and maintain an after-hour on-call list of mechanics to respond to emergency equipment repair needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Knowledge of diesel engines and pumping equipment
Plumbing and piping knowledge a plus
Familiarity with industry and/or construction helpful
Familiar Working understanding of all duties and responsibilities of Dispatch and service
Ability to use sound judgment, work independently with initiative and problem solve in a fast paced environment
Ability to collaborate and build effective relationships at all levels of the organization
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and remain focused and organized.
Ability to effectively delegate responsibility and supervise work activities of others.
