**Key Responsibilities:**
- Be a pivotal member of our Senior Management team, reporting directly to the Executive team, including the CFO and Senior VP of Finance.
- Dive into the day-to-day management of individual store financial conditions.
- Showcase your financial prowess by preparing monthly financial statements in line with dealership guidelines and the manufacturer's format.
- Ensure precision in all manufacturer accounts, managing warranty claims, rebates, interest protection, and co-op advertising.
- Be the financial storyteller, interpreting the financial statement and daily operating control (DOC) to keep the Executive team abreast of evolving trends.
- Contribute to both short- and long-term financial forecasts for the dealership.
- Empower department managers with detailed financial and management reports.
- Flex your financial muscles by managing an effective cash management system, forecasting cash funds, and recommending profitable uses for excess cash.
- Direct the assessment of depreciation rates for capital assets.
- Scrutinize general ledger accounts, investigating any unusual entries.
- Uphold proper bank reconciliation, reserve accounts, factory payable, and floor plan payable.
- Stay ahead of tax code revisions, providing valuable insights for operational adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with all government finance regulations.
- Optimize the dealership's computer system for maximum efficiency.
- Lead a loss review program and maintain loss reserves for contingent liabilities and trade receivables.
- Collaborate with the dealer to assess insurance renewals and proficiently process insurance claims.
- Coordinate the annual audit (or review) and physical inventory.
- Uphold the highest standards of accounting procedures within the office, minimizing audit or review costs.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement in data integrity and information reporting.
- Attend manager's meetings and provide strategic input.
- Supervise the accounting team, including accounts payable clerks, office managers, and the DMV/titling team.
**Requirements:**
- Bring your intelligence, positive attitude, and autonomous/entrepreneurial spirit.
- Have 1+ years of experience as a Controller/Assistant Controller in retail automotive.
- Familiarity with DealerTrack software is strongly preferred. (though not mandatory).
- A CPA background is a strong advantage.
