Director of Children’s Faith Formation at Forest Lake Presbyterian Church
The Director of Children’s Faith Formation (CFF) at Forest Lake Presbyterian Church in Columbia, SC, is responsible for the overall mission and vision of the educational ministries for members and guests of FLPC between the ages of birth to 5th grade. The goal of this position is to invite, encourage and lead all of God’s children into a living faith in Christ.The ideal candidate will be a committed Christian dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ and have experience in the recruitment, training, and support of volunteers, and in planning events and developing strategies for Christian faith formation for preschoolers and elementary-aged children and their families. This position will be guided by the church’s mission and vision to plan and implement programs and strategies that will help transform children’s head, heart, and hands in the service of Christ through education.Some responsibilities of this position include:Scriptural Literacy: selecting curricula and designing educational programsTheological Literacy: education in liturgical and sacramental celebrationsGeneral Faith Formation and Community Building: spiritual development planning with intergenerational events through the summer and mid-week encountersVolunteer Engagement and Support: recruit and train volunteers for the work of children’s faith formationHealth and Safety: provide training and manage compliance with the church’s Child Protection policy and safety proceduresChristian Life Skills: develop training programs in Christian living skillsQualifications:Have bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or commensurate experience.Have demonstrated involvement in a Christian congregation.Have excellent computer skills (Word processing, excel, computer publishing, web and social media literacy)This position is a 30 hour a week position and has a pay range of $30,000 to $32,000 annually.
