PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The incumbent in this position will provide the services meeting the goals of the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.Clinical laboratory personnel, as members of the health care delivery team, are responsible for assuring reliable and accurate laboratory test results which contribute to the diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and prevention of physiological and pathological conditions in humans. Quality clinical laboratory testing is evidenced by: performing the correct test, on the right person, at the right time, producing accurate test results, with the best outcome, in the most cost-effective manner.Exhibits effective patient and customer service skills with adherence to core values and mission of the hospital.
Education.An Associate's Degree in Medical Technology or related sciences.
National certification preferable.Experience.One year clinical lab experience or attendance at a school of Medical TechnologyInterrelationships.Interacts with physicians, nurses, infection control, infectious disease, practitioners, other hospital employees, volunteers and students, as well as patients of all ages-new born through geriatric.
