Job PurposeIntercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE) presents a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and business challenges in the financial sector.
The Senior Engineer role within the ICE Network Engineering team provides leadership in network design, validation, deployment, maintenance and 24x7 operational support.The successful candidate will work on further advancing one of the largest and global financial networks with a wide variety of critical services as well as help drive large scale data center refreshes both on premise and cloud.
The successful candidate will be able to multitask in a dynamic team-based environment demonstrating strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities and the highest degree of professionalism.ResponsibilitiesDesign, deploy, support and maintain mixed vendor network infrastructureDevelop, document and publish architectural standards and designsAssist ICE staff with problem solving and escalation proceduresUnderstand and follow operational policies/procedures and promote adherence to sameProvide technical knowledge needed to ensure safe, effective, and efficient changes to the network infrastructureAssist with development of policies and procedures for maintaining network infrastructureCollaborate and work closely with all other IT teamsLead incident investigations, diagnosis, and service restoration and always give priority to the resolution of incidentsBe a subject matter expert provide guidance to other Engineers (troubleshooting, design, on-boarding, risk mitigation, operational improvement)Knowledge and ExperienceIn depth knowledge of general network principles and technology, and how to apply them in a service oriented mission critical environmentAbility to lead technical projects from design through implementation and rolloutExtensive network routing protocols and troubleshooting skills in BGP and OSPFIn depth knowledge of Juniper products and JUNOS and/or Arista products and EOSStrong knowledge of modern configuration management tools (Ansible, Jinja, JSON)Strong knowledge and experience developing in PythonExperience using Restful APIsProficient with GIT for software collaboration and version control6+ years' experience hands on support and troubleshooting of networks4+ years' experience with design and implementation on complex worksRunning and analyzing sniffer traces with deep TCP/IP protocol understandingBasic Unix/Linux system administrationExcellent communication and documentation skillsExcellent customer service attitudeAbility to operate effectively and professionally under pressurePreferred SkillsExperience working with Azure or AWS cloud deploymentsExperience working on financial and HFT networks with good understanding of exchange protocols (FIX etc.)Expert level network certifications: CCIE, JNCIE. etcF5, Checkpoint, or Palo Alto advanced certificationIn-depth hardware knowledge of switches and routers: (Internal chipsets specifications, TCAM and memory details, buffering capabilities and multicast replication details)Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering or related fieldScheduleThis role offers work from home flexibility of up to 2 days per week.Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
