We are seeking to hire a
Venture Capital Investor
in our San Francisco or Boston offices. S/he will lead and participate in all aspects of our investment process for our venture capital portfolio, including sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio monitoring. As a senior member of the Private Equity and Real Estate team, the candidate will also be expected to serve as the primary point of contact for venture capital specific questions from the broader Research and Client teams, to prepare investor update presentations, and to serve a co-portfolio manager for our venture capital pooled vehicles. The position will report to the Managing Director and Head of Private Equity and Real Estate. Specifically, the individual will be involved with and responsible for: Leading all aspects of sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, closing and monitoring of fund and co-investments for our venture capital asset class. Developing all transaction documentation and leading presentations to the Asset Class Investment Committee. Cultivating relationships with best-in-class prospective venture capital managers and representing Partners Capital in the broader investment community and build credibility internally. Succinctly communicating our venture capital investment strategy to Client CIO teams and other key internal stakeholders. Become the credible resource internally on the venture capital market. Supporting business development and marketing efforts for the venture capital investment strategy. Contributing to the portfolio management for our venture capital-focused pooled vehicles. Contributing to the day to day operations of our broader Private Equity and Real Estate team, including recruiting, training, and mentoring junior team members. Conducting market and manager research. Key responsibilities may be assessed and are subject to change from time to time based on the needs of the business. Qualifications / Attributes
A minimum of 8 years’ experience within the following segments of the financial industry: private equity, investment banking, corporate M&A, capital markets or valuation services. At least five years of venture capital related investment experience, preferably via a primary fund manager selection role for an endowment, foundation, fund-of-fund, or asset manager. Significant experience performing complex financial analysis, modelling, and company valuations, including discounted cash flow and comparable company analyses. Ability to conduct industry research, articulate opinions and write clear and concise memoranda on investment opportunities. Undergraduate degree in related field. Preferably a master’s degree and/or relevant professional certification (e.g. CFA or CAIA). Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. California requires Partners Capital to include a reasonable estimate of the base salary for this role. This base salary range is specific to individuals applying to work in San Francisco office and considers a number of factors. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role in San Francisco is $165,000 to $285,000. The base salary offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. The base salary is one element of our competitive compensation package. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentive and our profit share program.
