Software Product ManagerLocation: Santa Barbara, CA or remote from a home based office in the U.S.Duties and Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Director of Product Management and the VP of Software to define software product strategies that will result in sustainable and profitable growth for software products.Maintain software product and release roadmaps guided by input from customers and field sales representatives that is supported by detailed market analysis.Ensure an Agile approach to software product management is undertaken and used with all stakeholders, i.e., an approach that embraces changing requirements, revisions to scope and timeline to be market responsive, and supporting software development teams with fine-grained stories that feed into the highest impact minimum viable product releases.Visit high-value customers to generate a clear understanding of their challenges and needs.Ensure strong "voice of the customer" and competitive considerations when developing requirements, epics, stories, and their acceptance criteria.Inspire and influence colleagues to work across a matrix organization (Hardware R&D, Software R&D, Operations, Manufacturing, Service, Marketing, Sales).Support new instrument initiatives through the Wyatt Product Lifecycle (PLC) and become the Software PLC champion working with cross-functional R&D teams through all milestones.Work with other product managers, customers, and field teams to gather software requirements and define use cases for new projects.Test new products and collaborate closely with software and hardware test teams.Work closely with software development teams to ensure a seamless transfer to other departments for new products prior to launch.Work closely with product marketing team to ensure Wyatt product launches are best in class and result in growth targets being met over the lifecycle of the product.Work closely with product management team to ensure product infancy issues are dealt with quickly and systematically with minimal impact to customers.Work closely with the Customer Support and Service team to prioritize and resolve customer issues associated with software products.Track metrics related to software products and customer satisfaction in conjunction with Customer Support and Service, to identify high priority issues that need to be resolved.Identify issues affecting Wyatt software product line health along with potential risks that could impact Wyatt projects; provide recommendations to make measurable improvements.Deliver sustainable software tools to customers and field sales teams that can be used to improve customer satisfaction, specifically related to product training.Requirements:

Bachelor’s of Science Degree required. Master’s or Ph.D. is preferred in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, or chemical engineering.Five (5) years in sales/marketing; Three (3) years in product management; Two (2) years in laboratory instrument sales support, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience with Wyatt Technology or HPLC preferred.Software product development experience including user experience and agile product development skills preferred.Strong track record of delivering business results and demonstrated ability to mobilize and influence the organization.Global brand management and international experience preferred.Proven successful completion of full product launches and willingness to perform hands-on activities.Proven software product and project management leadership including a clear understanding of the various roles of functional support groups and their interrelation.Open and effective communication style, excellent public presentation skills, strong people skills, cross-organizational teamwork and the ability to interact with and influence the direction of key opinion leaders.Excellent writing skills with prior experience in producing marketing communications.Travel up to 25% of your time annually.
