Write clean, well-designed codeProduce detailed specificationsTroubleshoot, test and maintain the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionalityContribute in all phases of the development lifecycleFollow industry best practicesDevelop and deploy new features to facilitate related procedures and tools if necessaryIntegration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developersBuild efficient, testable, and reusable PHP modulesSolve complex performance problems and architectural challengesIntegration of data storage solutions (may include databases, key-value stores, blob stores, etc.)
Skills RequiredProven software development experience in PHPUnderstanding of open source projects like Joomla, Drupal, Wikis, osCommerce, etc.Demonstrable knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX, etc.Good knowledge of relational databases, version control tools, and of developing web servicesExperience in common third-party APIs (Google, Facebook, Ebay, etc.)Passion for best design and coding practices and a desire to develop new bold ideasBS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subjectStrong knowledge of PHP web frameworks (such as Laravel, Yii, etc. depending on your technology stack)Understanding the fully synchronous behavior of PHPUnderstanding of MVC design patternsBasic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3Knowledge of object-oriented PHP programmingUnderstanding accessibility and security compliance (Depending on the specific project)Strong knowledge of the common PHP or web server exploits and their solutionsUnderstanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable applicationUser authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environmentsIntegration of multiple data sources and databases into one systemFamiliarity with limitations of PHP as a platform and its workaroundsCreating database schemas that represent and support business processesFamiliarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languagesProficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
