ResponsibilitiesReviews and manages tax returns, extensions, and tax planning calculationsPrepares complex federal and state income taxes and estate and gift taxesSupervises and manages large tax engagementsIdentifies solutions for client issuesCompletes assignments within budgeted time frame and within firm quality standardsAssigns projects to appropriate team membersRecognizes opportunities to provide additional services to new or existing clientsAssists in business development by meeting with potential clientsMaintains long-term focus on client relationships by maintaining client contact with appropriate individuals throughout the yearCoaches, develops, and motivates fellow staff members, including interns through senior associatesAssists in the development and training of new staffRecruits for future staff hiresCredentials and ExperienceBachelor of Science in AccountingMaster of Science in Taxation preferred but not requiredCPA certification required4-8 years of public accounting experience with a national or regional firm in their tax departmentKnowledge and SkillsStrong knowledge and experience in tax preparation and reviewStrong knowledge of authoritative federal and state taxation including income taxes and estate and gift taxesAbility to manage multiple projects with consistency and accuracyHigh level of professionalismAbility to work in a team environmentHigh sense of urgencyAbility to work under pressure with tight deadlinesStrong oral and written communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office
