What is the Role:
The DCG Director, Risk will be responsible for the strategic, market and operational risk verticals at the DCG level reporting to the Treasurer. The successful candidate needs to establish and communicate DCG’s risk philosophy and appetite to senior management and DCG subsidiaries, and work with all shareholders to implement the infrastructure for successful tracking and execution on the enterprise risk policies, processes, and reporting requirements.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
Establish the appropriate risk framework to address the complex nature of DCG’s business model and that of its operating and investment subsidiaries and affiliates
Provide the DCG’s board of directors with the framework and tools to define the risk limits parameters, including concise Board-level risk reporting framework
Integrate strategic risk management priorities into DCG’s overall strategic planning
Define and recommend to senior management enterprise-wide risk policies required to ensure implementation of and adherence to the Board-approved risk appetite
Work with DCG business units to provide guidance on all risk matters, and oversee their adherence to risk policies globally
Develop and implement process for validation of risk measurement methodologies and workflows including recommendations for appropriate risk monitoring systems
Develop quantitative models, risk maps and reports to support measurement of enterprise-level risk
Monitor risk levels in aggregate and across all risk types and ensure compliance with articulated risk limits and enterprise-wide risk appetite
Supervise budgeting of risk management and mitigation projects
What You’ll Bring:
MBA or a PhD degree in a quantitative field required
At least 10 years of professional risk management experience in capital markets
Experience in the Crypto space is a plus though not required
Previous experience reporting to the C-suite and boards preferred
Demonstrated expertise with risk modeling and quantitative analytics
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a comprehensive and sustainable process for identifying, prioritizing, monitoring, controlling, and reporting key business risks
Ability to summarize and interpret risk reports from business units and translate them into terms decision-makers will understand
Demonstrated understanding of the regulatory environment, relevant industry standards and best practices
Ability to think strategically and work with operating units to disaggregate business plans and transactions into component risks the organization is assuming
Ability to effectively analyze significant amounts of data and distill key points that help senior management and the board analyze risk in each situation
