Santa Monica Convalescent Center is looking for a dynamic Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) to join our clinical team and provide our residents with an exceptional care experience. The purpose of this position is to provide each resident with routine daily nursing care in accordance with the resident’s assessment plan, with current federal, state and local standards and regulations that govern the facility, and as directed by your supervisors.
Responsibilities
Answering call lights to determine and meet resident needs
Assist with daily activities of daily living
Ensure that all nursing care is provided with privacy & dignity
Making residents comfortable (putting them in bed, bringing them water, etc.)
Assisting resident’s during meal times (by cutting their food and spoon feeding if needed)
Records resident's oral intake and output
Proper lifting and transitioning residents from wheelchair to bed, bed to chair, etc.
Obtains and records Vital Signs and weights per policy
Transporting residents to dining area (for meals and activities) and returning them to their room
Timely reporting of change in resident’s condition to the Nurse Supervisor
Understanding of required HIPAA standards
Following Infection and Control policies
Use proper body mechanics when necessary
Provide companionship and excellent care to patients
Maintain a clean and healthy environment
Prioritizes patient/resident activities based on current care needs
Be punctual and professional
Participates in the care planning process and implements care according to care plan
Other duties as assigned
Experience:
Certified Nursing Assistant experience (Preferred)
Skilled Nursing: 1 year (Preferred) but we are willing to train new grads!
License/Certification:
CNA Certification (Required)
CPR Certification (Required)
Competency in Point Click Care (POC) software is highly preferred
