Description

1st shift Receiving Clerk needed in our South Bend, Indiana state-of-the-art Environmentally Controlled facility. Hours are Monday- Friday 6am-2:30pm. The Receiving Clerk must be willing and able to correctly receive and distribute vendor supplied material in an accurate and timely manner; as products are delivered, receiving clerks take delivery and sort the items. In some cases, this means helping to offload items from the truck and staging them on the dock by date delivered.

(Needed/desired for this Position)Strong analytical skills.Prior experience in warehouse setting and receiving is a benefit.Prior experience in operating a fork lift is a benefit.Must be Detail Oriented.Poses strong problem solving skills.Poses basic computer user skills.Poses better than average listening skills.Strong work ethics including attendance/tardiness and honesty.Must be receptive to cross training in all areas of the Inventory Control Department as needed.Must be able to complete tasks in an expedient and orderly manner while attaining the quality standards set forth by PEI-Genesis and the ISO 9001: 2008/AS9100C: 2009.High School Diploma or GED Preferred or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Complete daily assignments efficiently and accurately to assure the integrity of the inventory.Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.Must be able to perform repetitive detailed work.Must be able to work on feet at least 90% of the day.Must be to reach over shoulder to top shelf of inventory bays in warehouse with or without the aid of a ladder.Maintain your work area in a clean and orderly manner adhering to basic 5S principles "SORT, STRAIGHTEN, SHINE SYSTEMIZE and SUSTAIN".Identify the parts to be received into inventory to verify they are correct from vendor.Checks and signs delivery slips. Assists with unloading as necessary.Verify count of all parts received.Identify damage and loss or surplus of freight delivered.Bag all parts per the correct amount.Receive parts on an ERP system.Correctly label all bags and place on put-away cart.Prepares inventory received for movement to the appropriate areas within the warehouse.Detect vendor shortages and communicate said shortages appropriately to management.Notify the appropriate department of any and all discrepancies.Ensure that training is up to date and recognize the need for additional and/or continuous training.Resolve any discrepancies that occur daily within the receiving process.Ensure that the quality of product in the warehouse has met the PEI-Genesis and ISO 9001: 2008/AS9100C: 2009 standards.Ability to fluctuate schedule as deemed necessary by management or as the work load requires.Transports and shifts material using appropriate handling equipment to include fork lift if trained to do so.The list of duties and responsibilities outlined above is representative and not a complete and detailed list of tasks, which may be performed by the Receiving Clerk I.OUTCOMES -

The Receiving Clerk I must perform essential tasks and responsibilities with need of supervision to complete their job assignments.The Receiving Clerk I must support the continuous and accurate flow of material through the receiving process, warehouse and all phases of warehousing.The Receiving Clerk I will provide suggestions to management and others for continuous improvement opportunities in receiving, the warehouse as well as the entire plant.The Receiving Clerk I will recognize need for and request additional and/or continuous training as necessary.The Receiving Clerk I will have assignments completed timely and accurately.The Receiving Clerk I will assure that nonconforming materials are systemically moved / quarantined as appropriate for disposition at a later time.PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Manual lifting up to 35 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 70 lbs. on occasion (with assistance).Repetitive detailed work with hands for 8+ hours of the day.Ability to sit or stand for up to 8+ hours.Be able to reach overhead with or without the aid of a ladder or step stool.Ability to Grip/Grasp at least 8 hours of the day.WORK ENVIRONMENT
