Serve as a medical assistant performing patient care and nursing administrative duties for outpatients accordance with established policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.Monitor and record physiological measurements.Orient new patients to the clinic environment.Prepare and position patients for examinations and treatments.Prepare and administer medications under nurse or physician supervision.Frontline preventionist, identify potential health risks and provide preventive counseling.Perform paraprofessional portions of preventive health assessments and physical examinations.Perform medical records reviews in order to determine medical needs.Establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships with co-workers, families, peers, and other team members.Perform portions of medical treatment, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Record treatment and procedure rendered, and observe effects. Identify patient problems and accurately notifies nursing team.Adhere to infection control procedures including the use of personal protective equipment, disposal of waste, and aseptic technique.Perform central sterile supply duties.Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned and stored at the end of each work shift. Ensure preventive maintenance and routine cleaning are performed as directed.Perform basic life support and triage in emergency situations.Provide field medical care in contingency operations and disasters. Operate emergency medical and other vehicles. Load and unloads litter patients.Perform paraprofessional portions of preventive health assessments and physical examinations when required.Maintain outpatient medical records. Prepare and submit administrative reports.Participate in in-service training and continuing education programs for new procedures, techniques, and equipment.Schedule/attend in-service training in new procedures, techniques, and equipment. Conduct or schedule periodic disaster training, fire drills, and evacuation procedures. Provide medical training to include agencies and personnel other than medical. Training includes areas such as emergency medical technician and self-aid buddy care.Provide required basic life support training.Ensure a safe work environment and employee safe work habits.Assist in the routing patient care and treatment of beneficiaries, to include flying and special operational duty personnel, when required. Organize the medical environment, perform and direct support activities for outpatient care situations, including contingency operations and disasters.Qualifications:

Completion of a medical assisting program recognized and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), or, equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience (i.e., military training).Completion of high school with courses in general science, biology, psychology, and chemistry.At least 12 months of experience within the last 36 months, in an outpatient clinic setting. Experience performing nursing activities in the care and treatment of patients; operating and maintaining therapeutic equipment; conducting sub-professional portions of physical examinations; or assisting in medical treatment of patients.Mandatory knowledge includes medical terminology, anatomy and physiology; nursing theory, techniques and procedures; team nursing; patient needs; emergency medical treatment to include cardiopulmonary resuscitation, aseptic technique, medical ethics, and legal aspects; prescription drugs and their administration; operating and maintaining therapeutic equipment, military hygiene and sanitation; risk management, contingency operations, disaster preparedness, and chemical warfare; and transportation of sick and wounded. Vaccination procedures; methods of properly administering intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular injections; allergen identification; composition of various vaccines; mechanisms of anaphylaxis and shock and their treatment; and pharmacology of various drug groups.License - Certifications:

Certification in a MTN approved Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course.
