Responsibilities:Attends and contributes to patient care, staffing conferences and other required meetings as a representative of physical therapy, under the direction of the physical therapistResponsible for the effective and efficient delivery of rehab services; adherence to an established plan of care, department and patient(s)' schedule, and timely documentation of servicesWorks with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patientActs as an assistant to the Physical Therapist when the Physical Therapist is performing tests, evaluations, and complex proceduresInstructs patients, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Physical TherapistMaintains appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treatedCleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessaryPuts Patient Service First: Ensures that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rightsImplements a patient's individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Physical TherapistProvides individualized physical therapy treatments including but not limited to:Airway clearance techniquesIntegumentary repair and protectionUse of electrotherapeutic, physical agent and mechanical modalitiesOrganizes and facilitates treatment groups in collaboration with the physical therapistPerforms other related duties as required
Requirements:Current NY State Physical Therapist Assistant LicenseMinimum of 1 year experience working in a short-term and/or Long-term rehabMust have 1 year experience in SNFSolid knowledge of healthcare industry and related guidelinesExcellent communication skills in both oral and written forms-Display a sense of curiosity, enthusiasm and eagerness to understand business constraints, environment and impact on regulation for the healthcare industry.Excellent organization, analytical and time management skillsExperience in strong problem solving/troubleshooting skills
