WAN Architect
The WAN Architect will be responsible for interfacing with customers and various internal teams in both virtual and on-site environments on a day-to-day basis. This individual must be customer focused and be able to thrive in a dynamic environment. He or she will report to the PDP Director and must deliver expert engineering knowledge, experience, and accountability to the team.• WAN architecture level's design review• WAN architecture liaison• WAN configuration development for use in automation
Responsibilities:• Subject matter expert on routing/switching, WAN, MAN, VPN• Manage BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS, VPN, WAN, VXLAN related documentation• Review DRD (Design Requirements Documents) to compliance to standards• Bug review and Lab test for new code for various network platforms (Cisco ISR, ASR, Company, Nexus and any device acting as a Layer 3 device)• Work with Client and Network teams and Automation teams on SD-WAN (Cisco DNA Center)• Lab testing for new network/security designs and technologies• Lab testing for new software/firmware code levels and designs• Work with Architecture teams to review various configuration standards• Confirming every project request, complies to current operational requirements, MSBs, standards, design guides• Support project teams for all technology, design and configuration related issues• Support Operations teams and Client teams with configuration and design production issues• Assist Audit teams in their duties as SME Liaison
Deliverables• Technical support and advice for all Network teams in the account (including Project Delivery team, Operations team, Client and Project Management team)• Recommend approval of various configuration standards and technical bulletins• Provide recommendations, configuration standards and tech bulletins for various network platforms• Publish the software and hardware track sheets to Client teams• Building scripts for related lab testing• Provide Lab testing results approval• Provide advice, standards and other support document to Audit team to help answer technical questions, fill compliance gaps and any finding verifications.• Provide technical guidance to the Automation team that would enable mass configuration changes, baseline reporting and support to the automation/operational teams• Develop configuration templates to be delivered to the Client and Automation teams
Education/Experience:• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.• Expert knowledge of TCP/IP network routing and switching, and network security• Advanced to expert knowledge of the following routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS, VPN, VXLAN connectivity• Advanced to expert knowledge of Cisco ISR, ASR, Company, Nexus platforms• Working knowledge of Cisco DNA Center - SD-WAN• Skills in MS Office and Visio• Desire to consistently improve knowledge and competency levels of all areas of the job.• Certified in Cisco CCNP Enterprise• Knowledge of python, Ansible, jinja2 templets, Itential, and/or automation scripting tools.
