As the Patient Service Representation II, you will serve as a primary point of contact for patients and visitors in an ambulatory care setting while providing excellent customer service. You will assist in practice operations as assigned including telephone management, scheduling, billing, rooming patients and taking vital signs as needed.

Under the direct supervision of the Leadership including the Department Coordinator, you will ensure that all provider schedules are appropriately populated, telephones are responded to according to established protocols, and complete registration, insurance eligibility and student health information are captured prior to, or during each patient visit. The incumbent is also responsible for insurance health immunization compliance processes are completed in a timely manner.

Job Responsibilities:

Communicates with and assists patients, other employees, and the public in a courteous manner by phone and in person.Provides accurate information and guidance and attends to patient questions. Schedules appointments, making every effort to meet patient and provider needs. Redirects calls as appropriate to meet customer needs.Performs accurate patient identification, check-in, registration, and verification of demographic and fiscal information according to established procedures.Performs components of revenue cycle processes as it pertains to billing and reports as assigned and trained.May actively assist and support clinical providers by queuing prescriptions for renewal and performing initial review of medication listings for accuracy.May assist medical assistant in rooming patients, taking vitals and processing point of care testing as assigned and trained.May assist with reviewing and ensuring that medical records are completed according to established standards.May assist with ensuring that office equipment is functioning - stock papers and toners in copiers and fax machines and other tasks as assigned.Maintains a clean and welcoming reception area. Monitors audio/visual equipment to maintain non-intrusive and calming environment.Monitors waiting area to facilitate timely flow and proactively solves flow issues. Acts as liaison between patient, providers, and management staff to ensure optimal patient service delivery.Coverage for the front office of the Health Center and backup coverage for the Brandeis Counseling Center.Professional Development: Participates in meetings and staff development programs as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED required plus Certification: Vocational or Technical training institution, Associates degree preferred

Experience in front office of a health care facility as well as experience with Medicat or any other electronic health records (EHR), billing and Microsoft office is a plus.
