Role/ Department:
Data Analytics Manager/Experience Research and Design Administration
Experience Research and Design is a multidisciplinary design, research, data and insights team dedicated to delivering innovative, differentiated and exceptional experiences to Northern Trust's clients and employees. Responsible for managing a small group of individual contributors within the Data Analytics function. The Data Analytics function is responsible for working with large and complex data sets (both internal and external data) to evaluate, recommend and support the implementation of business strategies. Identifies and compiles data sets using a variety of tools to help predict, improve and measure the success of key business to business outcomes. Responsible for documenting for data processing.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
• Seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical and / or business knowledge and functional expertise • Focus of role is on execution of strategic direction of business function activities • Carries out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues • Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity • Makes staffing decisions, manages expenses and salary review process for the division. • Participates in developing division strategic plan and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit; follows through to ensure that objectives are met. • Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication.
Skills/Qualifications :
• 10-15 years of relevant proven work experience • Deep understanding of Google Analytics 4 • Understanding of Saas digital tools for data ingestion (ETL)
• 5 years of R and/or Python and data science practices knowledge • Skilled in data analytics to drive business insights with a focus on digital data • Ability to guide and coach digital product teams on the data maturity path from data collection to descriptive analytics to predictive analytics • Flexible and comfortable using a range of tools and techniques • Able to engage others, and can flex communication style for a range of audiences from product teams to Executive Leadership • Self-starter, proactive, an explorer, team player • Able to balance client, Partner and business outcomes, prioritizing accordingly • Strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills with an ability to balance immediate client focused value and long-term strategic goals • Experienced with Human Center Design + Experience Research • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required • Highly flexible and adaptable to change
The successful candidate will benefit from having: • Technical skills / systems knowledge (e.g. Dynamics, SalesForce) is preferred
• Technical lead experience is preferred
• Masters degree is preferred
