Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:• Work with X-ray product software and own a component, feature or a feature set• Take ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver, while mentoring and helping team members• Work cross functionally with other teams and contribute to design discussions• Take initiative and to explore alternate technologies and approaches to solving problems• Apply principles of SDLC, Agile methodologies and Continuous Integration• Seek opportunities to automate and continuously improve software components• Perform software troubleshooting and investigations of components and features• Continuously expand technical knowledge, keep abreast of emerging software technologies and apply them to the product software
Basic Qualifications:• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development• Proven hands-on experience with object-oriented programming languages, primarily C++• Skilled in core data structures and algorithms• Experience working on Linux based platforms• Working knowledge in configuration management tools• Strong analytical skills, and experience in software development lifecycle• Must be willing to work out of an office located in Waukesha, WI
Desired Characteristics:• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent• 10+ years of software development experience with C++• Expert in writing code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for a project.• Experience working in complex software development projects• Strong oral, written communication skills and interpersonal skills• Adapt to new environments, changing requirements and pivots quickly as needed• Identify opportunities for innovation and offers new ideas.• Takes initiative to experiment with new software frameworks
