Pediatric Neurologist (Pediatric Neurology)

The Division of Pediatric Neurology at the University of Utah School of Medicine is seeking a Pediatric Neurologist to provide care in inpatient and outpatient settings, working primarily at St. Vincent in Billings, Montana.

The Division of Pediatric Neurology at the University of Utah is a collegial and growing division that maintains specialty interests in a variety of pediatric and developmental neurological conditions including epilepsy, neurogenetic and neuromuscular diseases, stroke and vascular disease, movement disorders, and functional neuroimaging and basic neuroscience research. Major programs in precision medicine and quality improvement also exist.

Your day.

As a Pediatric Neurologist you’ll work with a strong team to provide top-notch care and patient experience.

You would practice at St. Vincent in Billings, MT

Your hours will be Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm and Fri 8am-2pm

You'll provide inpatient and outpatient pediatric neurology coverage

You'll have the opportunity to take part in outreach to rural communities surrounding Billings

Throughout the day you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with strong nursing support and other specialties

3-4 weeks per year, you'd supervise the inpatient pediatric neurology service at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah

In this line of work, every day is different, that’s why you’ll need to know how to:

Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnosis and treatment.

Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens.

Serve as a collaborative physician for an advanced practice registered nurse.

Direct and coordinate the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.

Your experience.

MD or DO degree from fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine.

Residency trained in Pediatrics.

Fellowship trained in Pediatric Neurology.

American boardcertification/eligibilityin required specialty.

Able to obtain a Montana medical license.

Legally authorized to work in the United States.

It’s also a big plus if you have:

Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team.

A sense of team and patient care focused.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to successfully function in a fast paced, service oriented environment.

Experience in understanding and usage of computers, including Microsoft products. The ability to learn new applications relevant to your position.
