Inform patients of the purpose of all tests personally performed and how they will be affected during the tests.Learn to obtain patient history to include chief complaint, history of present illness, past history (ocular and general), family history (ocular and general), and history of allergies and medications.Learn to perform accurate and consistent documentation and measurement tasks to include: Visual AcuityLensometryApplanation TonometryConfrontational Visual Field TestingStereo TestingEvaluation of MotilityPupillary Function TestsColor PlatesAccurate RefractometryAngle AssessmentDilation of PupilsSchirmers Amsler GridAdminister topical and oral medication under direct supervision of a physicianHumphrey Visual Field TestingLearn to perform other testing and tasks specific to the physician's clinic needs.Learn the steps necessary to educate all cataract evaluation patients regarding what a cataract is and how they are removed using eye model or photo as an educational tool.
