Test Lab Technician

DCS Corp is seeking a dynamic, team oriented, energetic, and customer focused Technician to help support our Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) customers onsite the Army’s Warren, MI location.

This opportunity would be embedded within the Durability Test Lab and have you working alongside their team of Project Leads, Engineers, and Technicians to conduct experiments that test and characterize physical parameters on military vehicle systems and components. You will be responsible for providing the day-to-day operation, setup, execution, and maintenance to the test rigs and equipment used to support the lab.Essential Job Functions:Setup and monitor tests according to Lab Engineer requirements, specializing around the hydraulic shakersConduct all test setups for assigned capability areaTest monitoring and progress reporting to Lab EngineerPreparation of test itemPlan, track, and execute scheduled maintenance on capability areaPlan, track, and execute scheduled equipment calibration verificationsDesign fixtures and test apparatus to meet testing requirementsTest fixture fabricationPlan, track, and execute an inventory management plan for assigned capability areaRequired Skills:Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is requiredHS diploma with seven years of relevant technician experience / Associates degree in a technical field and Five years of relevant technician experienceAbility to obtain a Secret clearanceKnowledge and ability to design, develop, fabricate, setup, maintain and modify laboratory apparatus, and layout of test fixturesKnowledge of measurement techniques, instruments, transducer theory, and applications for improving existing methodsExperience with a variety of shop machines and toolsExperience in the operation and upkeep of vehicles and equipmentDesired Skills:Knowledge of instrumentation and data acquisitionKnowledge of hydraulic systemsExperience with operating lift/hoist equipment
