The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner's primary role in the Behavioral Health Department is to provide psychiatric medication consultation, assessment, and psychiatric medication management.

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides direct care to referred patients ages 2.5 to greater than 100 years and may be required to demonstrate age specific competency, depending upon clinical assignment, in a variety of clinical settings throughout the health center.

Responsible for providing quality patient care under the guidance of the Clinical Supervisor, Administrative and Medical Directors, and in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Establishes rapport and develops therapeutic relationships with patients of diverse backgrounds and varying levels of motivation for change.

Provides assessment and treatment for a range of conditions to individuals, couples, families and groups, acquiring additional training and supervision for couples and families as indicated.
