We are seeking candidates for the position of Bldgs Millwright-First Cl (1151) in the B&B/Bridges & Buildings.

OVERALL DESCRIPTION

Inspects, disassembles, repairs and replaces electro-mechanical equipment and makes mechanical and electrical repairs cranes, hoists, vehicle washers, tanks, elevators, escalators, pumps, air compressors, turnstile equipment, overhead doors and other equipment.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Inspects visually, disassembles, repairs, or replaces various mechanical equipment such as cranes, hoists, vehicle washers, tanks, elevators, escalators, pumps, air compressors, turnstile equipment, overhead doors, etc.Erects scaffolding and performs rigging as required.Locates electrical trouble and diagnoses by various electrical testing devices, repairs electrical trouble as required. Locates trouble in electro-mechanical equipment and makes mechanical and electrical repairs.Manufactures, installs, and repairs such parts as bushings, bearings, pulleys, gears, belts, gaskets, and all related parts connected with the safe operation of all mechanical equipment serviced by the department.Complies with all Authority and departmental safety and security policies and procedures as well as all applicable job safety responsibilities. Reports any safety concerns, compromises or hazards affecting operations, the public, self and/or other employees. Responsible for personal safety and is encouraged to promote the safety of others.

ADDITIONAL SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.Must have valid Pennsylvania driver's license or equivalent.Must have three (3) years relevant full time work experience which includes proficiency in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and pneumatic equipment and accessories equipment includes but is not limited to pumps, compressors, electric motors, roto-gates, fans, overhead doors or gates, etc.Successful completion of trade school curriculum in relevant area may be substituted for up to one year of work experience.Must also have experience in the cutting and threading of pipe up to two inches in diameter.Must successfully complete pre-employment and performance tests as requiredMust have knowledge or regulatory agency codes and requirements.Will be required to possess or obtain hand tools as designated by the position's tool list.IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
