Job Description

Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Staff SW Engineer (multiple openings) in Foster City, CA to:

Drive development efforts End-to-End for on-time delivery of high quality solutions that conform to requirements, conform to the architectural vision, and comply with all applicable standards.Responsibilities span all phases of solution development, including collaborating with project team members (e.g., Product Managers, Architects, Analysts, Developers, and Project Managers).Ensure development and implementation of new data driven business solutions.Gather requirements definitions and clarifications in collaboration with Business to ensure completeness and common understanding.Collaborate and align with architects and senior technologists on architecture and design. Provide solid cost estimates for effort and time.Create design documentation.Work on design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.Review and assess impact of proposed scope changes on assigned deliverables.Work with other engineering teams to facilitate a common approach to continuous integration that includes build automation, test automation, and deployment automation.Collaborate with senior technical staff and PM to identify, document, plan contingency, track and manage risks and issues until all are resolved.Present technical solutions, capabilities, considerations, and features in business terms to communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner.Position reports to the Employer's Foster City, CA office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications:

Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and 2 years of experience in job offered or in a computer-related occupation.Spring and Hibernate.REST and JSON.Java.Shell Scripting, UNIX, and LINUX.Implementing solutions for low-latency, distributed services using open standard technologies.RDBMS, Oracle, MS SQL SERVER, and AZURE.Agile development incorporating TDD, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.Developing large scale, enterprise class distributed system or subsystems that require high availability, low-latency, and strong data consistency computing.

Worksite:

Foster City, CA

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements:

This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements:

This position will be performed in an office setting.

The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $132,300.00 USD to $211,600.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
