This position will progress into a doctor's assistant.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPreparing information for surgeriesPreparing charts for office hoursScheduling and requesting appointments, x-rays, tests, surgeries, depositions, and prescriptionsProcessing mail and filingOther duties as assigned - i.e., covering physician's calls for co-workers as needed.EDUCATIONHigh school diploma or equivalent. A certificate or degree from an accredited medical secretary program is preferred.EXPERIENCEOne year of medical or medical office experience and computer experience in a medical office setting.
