Job Summary & Requirements

Job Summary:

Develops, implements, and coordinates the quality process to prevent or eliminate non-conformances in new or existing products and processes. Oversees the Quality Assurance department to ensure the production processes meet consistent standards. Duties include developing and implementing quality control tests, inspecting products at various stages, conducting audits, writing reports, maintaining certifications, documenting issues and driving corrective actions. Serve as a company representative. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company's policies and applicable laws.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Direct Reports: 4-7 employeesEffectively leading team to meet business goalsCreating and managing team schedulesManaging workflow of the department and delegating tasksTraining of team members to ensure job duties are performed efficiently and effectivelySetting goals for workers and ensuring compliance with the company goals and objectivesEvaluating performance and providing feedback on an ongoing basisResolving employee issues and disputesPrepare and enforce corrective actionsMaintain plant standards to ensure BRC and cGMP requirements are metEnforcing compliance with company policiesDuties/Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the upper management team to set quality benchmarksCreate standards in accordance with industry standards and customer expectationsIdentify quality control processes to ensure criteria are met at all timesExecute tests to check final product adherence to the company standardsSupervise department personnel to ensure efficient use of time, materials and resources, establish department and individual goals, and coach to improve performance within the department.Provide process management to meet quality standards required by customers.Manage customer complaints and work with others to resolve for customer and CCL satisfaction.Maintain and expand all quality certification requirements.Manage and properly close out corrective action process to correct non-conformances or complaints.Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems, non-conformities and complaintsInterview, assign, schedule, monitor, coach, counsel, appraise, review job contributions and discipline employees.Forecast staffing requirements based on scheduled jobs and manage staff levels and hours to meet or exceed operations labor budget expectations.Manage relationships with key personnel.Identify process improvement opportunities and implement necessary changes to positively impact production.Participate and support all local, state and federal inspections.Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizationsRequired Skills/Abilities:

Prior experience as a quality manager in a production processing environmentIn-depth understanding of industry quality standards and processesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong leadership and management skillsAbility to positively influence othersExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsDetail oriented and highly organizedSkilled in time management and prioritizationExcellent critical thinking skillsAbility to make independent decisionsProficient in Microsoft Office Applications and other systems as requiredEducation and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in related field.Preferred 5-10 years industry experience and quality standardsMinimum 5 years’ experience in supervising employeesPhysical Requirements:

Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.Regularly communicate in some manner either by speech/ hearing or through written communication.Frequently required to stand, walk and sit.Excellent visual discrimination for defect identification.Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Occasionally climb and balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
