WAVE produces metal ceiling grids that can be combined with Armstrong ceiling boards as a complete package or sold individually.SummaryProduction Planner - Axiom/Serpentina- WAVE AlpharettaWorthington Armstrong Venture (WAVE) is the worldwide leader in the production of suspended ceiling system solutions. Sold primarily under the Armstrong brand name, WAVE's innovative ceiling solutions are simplifying and accelerating construction. Drywall grid; Axiom perimeters, transitions, and trim; load-carrying grid; and lighting integration, among other component solutions, combine with acoustical ceiling suspension systems to turn architectural visions into reality.Under the direction of the Senior Planner, the Production Planner is responsible for scheduling all production processes Alpharetta facility. This position reports to the Senior Planner but works closely with the Axiom and Serpentina Strategic Sourcing Manager and the production planning team in Alpharetta.ResponsibilitiesCUSTOMER SERVICE SUPPORT Review new customer orders throughout the day and provide confirmed lead-times to CSR personnel. Provide feedback about any product capability questions. Offer information about inventory position and the availability to service orders. Supply updates on order status and order trackingPRODUCTION PLANNING Create and communicate daily manufacturing production schedule to the production teams in both facilities. Optimize production schedule to maximize efficiency of the operations team. Assist Alpharetta Plant Manager in creation of monthly production plan. Lead daily production schedule meeting with the Plant Manager, Production Planners, and cell production leaders. Work with Plant Manager to establish and continually update work cell production rates. Interact daily with the Strategic Sourcing Manager and each facility's Supply Chain Lead to ensure required raw materials and finished goods are present to ensure order on-time shipment. Ensure accurate and reliable communication takes place between the production teams and the customer service team regarding open order status, estimated completion times, and current back log (lead time)INVENTORY MANAGEMENT Assist in daily reviews of new orders to ensure raw material inventory availability. Support and participate in annual physical inventory. Support and participate in Base Stock Analysis for inventory stocking levels at least semi-annually.CUSTOM MANUFACTURING / VENDOR MANAGEMENT Communicate new custom manufacturing/outside processing orders to each facility's Supply Chain Lead Support new product development through the planning process of newly manufactured items.SYSTEMS / SOFTWARE SME ERP key end user and resource (Navision, BPCS, SAP) Create new item numbers for Raw Materials and Finished Goods as well as associated BOM and routings. Use Microsoft Office to support supply chain and manufacturing needs and communication.METRICS DEVELOPMENT / MANAGEMENT / PROCESS IMPROVEMENT Frequent reporting of key performance indicators and metrics to the Axiom/Serpentina Supply Chain Manager Effectively leverage the complete WAVE supply chain by communicating with WAVE plants and functional area key contacts Identify opportunities for process improvement to achieve site and individual annual goals.Desired ExperienceEducation/Experience/Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Operations, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or Business required Commensurate experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree. Minimum 1 year supply chain experience in a custom manufacturing environment required. Functional expertise in current supply chain concepts, practices, and procedures Ability to analyze business scenarios for sales, operations, and procurement. Demonstrated ability to achieve success at: tactical and strategic levels effective interaction at all levels with plant, office, and headquarters staff prioritizing, multi-tasking, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities Strong written, verbal, analytical and presentation skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other procurement software/tools (ERP/MRP) Microsoft NAVISION experience desired. LEAN Implementation/Transformation experience desired, LEAN participation required.
