Keep reading to find out if this role is meant for you!Job Description **JOB DESCRIPTION**Under the direction of Maintenance Supervisors or designated Tradespersons, will act as additional resource to perform established or elevated cleaning programs on BC Transits fleet of buses.**WORK SHIFT HOURS*** Shifts will be as follows and appropriate premiums as per the Collective Agreement would apply;+ Monday Friday: 8:00pm 2:30am (S/S off)+ Saturday Wednesday: 8:00pm 2:30am (Th/F off)+ Wednesday Sunday: 8:00pm 2:30am (M/T off)+ Thursday Monday: 8:00pm 2:30am (T/W off)* Regardless of shift employees receive 50 minutes of break-time, which is typically divided into two 10-minute rest periods, and one 30-minute meal break.* Overtime is not a frequent requirement of the position, but does arise on rare occasions in the form of incidental-overtime, which is voluntary and issued as per the Collective Agreement.**TECHNICAL FUNCTIONS*** Use proper cleaning chemicals for task, prepare and label solutions to desired concentrate, dispose of waste properly, monitor stock, and request replenishment of supplies before running out* Perform cleaning related activities ranging from:+ Removing all debris from interiors such as trash, gum, candy and any other foreign materials+ Emptying or changing garbage bucket, picking up loose papers/debris, sweeping floors, spot cleaning glass and mirrors+ Surface cleaning functions incl. wiping touchpoints, dashes, windows and stanchions+ Wipe and sanitize drivers and passengers area including dash, controls, steering wheel, farebox, stanchions, grab rails, next-stop buttons and cords, etc.+ Application of sanitizers, scents, disinfectants, decontamination agents or other+ Special assignment cleaning functions incl. premium pay for clean-up and disposal of vomit, excrement, medical products or waste, etc+ Identifying and reporting damage, broken items, upholstery defects and any other irregularities+ Collect lost and found articles and immediately turn them in* Proper and careful use of work equipment and materials**NON-TECHNICAL FUNCTIONS*** Perform basic record keeping and timely completion of required documentation (ie: checklists, start and end times, time sheets, etc)* Dependable and responsible to work assigned shifts independently and with minimal supervision* Moderate to high attention levels of detail* Attend and participate in meetings (incl. daily toolbox, monthly Unit meetings, safety, ad-hoc, etc)* Maintain contact and effective working relations with internal and external parties as reqd* Share knowledge and where necessary provide training for peersQualifications **QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS*** Offer of employment is subject to the successful completion of a pre-employment medical to ensure the incumbent will be able to carry out all bona fide occupational duties* Completion of a clear Criminal Record Check and/or Vulnerable Sector Search* Ability to complete WHMIS training (employer provided)* Basic literacy w/preference for Grade 12 graduate**CORE COMPETENCIES*** **Safety** - Safety is one of BC Transits core values.
