** Material Handler - 1st Shift****Job Category****:** Production **Requisition Number****:** MATER002912 Showing 1 location **Job Details****Description**POSITION PURPOSE:This position is responsible for the warehouse activities to support the daily operations of manufacturing. Responsibilities include loading and unloading of incoming and outgoing delivery trucks, putting away of all incoming material, daily cycle counting of raw material, and daily coordination of materials to/from production.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:* Load and unload delivery trucks.* Coordinate daily movement of raw material to/from production work areas.* Work directly with other warehouse and production personnel to ensure timely material flow to and from the warehouse.* Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner in accordance with company guidelines.* Other duties as assigned.* Verify quantity received versus quantity on packing slip. Note on the packing slip any quantity and/or material discrepancies and any damage of material and/or package.* Give packing slip to warehouse lead for receiving into computer system.* Puts away all incoming raw material to the appropriate warehouse storage area, or to the outside material overflow storage area.* Ensure timely and accurate transfer of material to/from various production locations using material transfer requests. Give completed material transfer requests to warehouse lead for input to the computer system. Incorporate FIFO (first in first out) principles when issuing material to production.* Load and unload raw material for various production equipment.* Move all production scrap to outside dumpster when requested.* Perform daily cycle counts in raw material warehouse.* Report all warehouse discrepancies to department manager.* Maintains a clean and orderly warehouse.* Ensures all warehouse equipment is operated safely and is properly maintained in compliance with company policy and procedures.* Maintain full working knowledge of all processes.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:* Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.* Tenacity in overcoming obstacles while maintaining productive and positive working relationships.* Ability to execute in a rapidly changing fast paced environment that requires strong team work.* Understanding of all tools, gages, equipment, and other various instruments used to perform position.* Basic ability to understand blue prints, schematics, and instrumentation diagrams.* Skill in performing accurate arithmetic functions involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; using decimals, percentages, fractions, and ratios.* Ability to drive a forklift (Sit down/Standup) to move material to/from trucks and various storage locations.* Ability to use computerized inventory control system and RF scanner.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:* Two plus years of experience in a relevant warehouse setting.* Previous experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse environment.* Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification.**Qualifications****Skills****Behaviors****:****Motivations****:****Education****Experience****Licenses & Certifications**
