Transportation Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction and supervision of the Transportation Manager, the Transportation Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that Transportation requests and driver schedules are implemented.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:Develops a daily schedule for each driver for all transportation needs of participants, meal deliveries, staff, deliveries of supplies, and pickups.Assigns Senior Drivers, Drivers and On Call Drivers to the vehicles and routes. Problem solves with staff to ensure timely pick up and drop off.Ensures that all guidelines as described in the Transportation section of the policy manual and the transportation department operations manual are properly followed.Coordinates transportation services to requesters as needed.Serves as liaison to IDT for receiving information about prt, status and communicates with transportation staff.Identifies training needs of staff and assists in coordination of training calendar.Investigates all reported incidents and accidents involving the transportation department.All other reasonably related jobs as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS (knowledge, skills, abilities):
Licensed California Driver with good driving record.Ability to operate all vehicles, has some mechanical ability and understands a maintenance program for vehicles.Supervisory ability and experience if possible, in the health care field.Flexibility and creativity; gets along well with frail elderly people, and exercises mature judgment.Basic computer skills preferred.Bilingual ability may be required for specific assignments.Ability to lift 100 pounds.
