Being a member of the Fixed Income Clearance and Settlement Operations Team, the Director will provide direction, oversight of processing activities, achievement of metrics and benchmarks, division rules and member support, and adherence to controls and risk management activities with respect to the fixed income marketplace. FICC Operations provides operational support for the Government Securities and Mortgage-backed Securities divisions of FICC focusing on trade capture, comparison, netting, allocation, and settlement services to the mortgage-backed and government securities market thus providing operational efficiency to this high dollar value marketplace. In addition, the Clearance & Settlement Director will develop and implement long term strategy and ensure execution of strategic goals at a divisional level.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

Enhanced crisis management/risk mitigation skills; ability to take decisive and corrective action both short and long term. Use subject matter expertise to review and enhance the control environment, and identify and implement operational improvementsServe as primary point of contact for audits and other risk management activities, including accountability for results, and oversee responses and action plans as applicable; ensure compliance with final recommendations/action plansProvide strategic direction related to the design, development, and maintenance of procedures. Ensure that procedures are continually followed and updated as new products or services are introducedCommunicate effectively to a high stakes audience, functional areas, and internal partners. Adapt style based on audience and clearly articulate complex or technical information in a way that is easily understood by recipientsBuild and maintain relationships with key partners internally (cross-GBO colleagues, Product Management, Application Development) and externally (participants, clearing bank, industry groups)Effectively manage a multi-site and diverse workforce. Strong talent evaluator with focus on development of others to perform by providing ongoing feedback. Set development goals and hold management team accountable to attain themPossess an in-depth understanding of business line products and service offerings, financial securities, how they are structured, and how they are processed at DTCC, with a specialization in mortgage-backed securitiesEnsure performance against departmental benchmarks and other metrics based on divisional and corporate standards. Ability to establish business targets to increase efficiency and reduce riskOwn and participate in department level projects. Contribute to programs involving major system improvements or redesigns and work with Project Directors, IT, and Product Management to ensure systems meet operational quality and processing standardsMitigate risk by following established procedures, spotting key errors, and demonstrating strong ethical behavior**NOTE: The Primary Responsibilities of this role are not limited to the details above. **

Qualifications:

Minimum 10 years of related experience in fixed income products, allocations, and settlements - with mortgage-backed experience being highly preferredBachelor's degree (preferred) or equivalent experienceTalents Needed For Success:

Knowledge of the intricacies of the mortgage-backed securities market is requiredEncourage teams to constructively challenge established viewsInspire different approaches or ways of workingPresent information clearly in writing and orally in larger group settingsConvince others on key topics by presenting persuasive arguments and alternative approachesSet an example for others by personally embracing change; build ownership for change by allowing others to lead change initiatives

The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
