Description

The primary purpose of this position is to provide information on credit union products and services to members and stake holders in accordance with credit union policies and procedures and State and Federal rules and regulations; obtain information/documentation for the loan process and loan applicants' credit history, interact with members or dealers when additional information is needed; perform other member service transactions. *75% of this team member's job is devoted to Home Equity Loans; the remaining time is in the Indirect Lending area. Acts as back up to Consumer Loan Processor whose primary function is in Indirect Lending area.

Essential Functions

Deliver service, to both internal and external members, in alignment with the credit union's mission.Understand and possess adequate knowledge to explain loan products and loan processes to stake holders.Provide prompt, efficient, professional, courteous member service.Assist members, dealers, and team members by obtaining information and documentations essential to the loan decision process. This includes obtaining credit reports, verifying debts, estimating monthly payments for any outstanding debts not listed and adding to the liabilities in the application process, then forwarding the application to the underwriter for a decision.Maintain reports and pipelines indicating status of loans, productivity and deadlines.Prepare loan documents and required disclosures to team members, dealers, or directly to members for signature and loan booking.Ensure documents returned from both Direct and Indirect channels are completed/signed properly and meet loan requirements.Review contracts, title search, appraisal, flood search, and recording of liens.Follow up with phone calls to members, team members, or dealers for status of approved loans that have not been booked or funded. Answer any questions that may arise in the process.Fund Home equity loans to members. Send out payoff documents and checks, as needed.Fund Indirect loans to Dealers. Monitor reports for dealer incentives.Open accounts for indirect loan members through third party software.Create and send out wires for mortgage closings. Follow up on the fed status of the wire and maintain records.Miscellaneous duties concerning loan maintenance such as rate adjustments, payment corrections, loan changes, etc.Performs related duties and responsibilities as required and other duties as assigned.Requirements

Requires education equivalent to a four-year high school education.At least one year of experience in branch office of a credit union or financial institution required.Work requires knowledge of consumer loan policy, credit-granting criteria, and interest rates. Knowledge of interviewing skills and techniques also required.Professional, well developed interpersonal skills essential for interviewing loan applicants and projecting a positive image as representative of the credit union.Ability to multi-task and prioritize according to time constraints.Ability to work independently.Accuracy and attention to details.Requires judgment. May be required to respond to unscripted questions, critical to loan decisions.Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.)Intermediate knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Applications, specifically MS Word and Excel preferred.
