About the Position

Foursquare is looking for a

Senior Security Engineer

to join our team! While we would prefer candidates based in or around our office hubs in New York City, Chicago, Seattle, or San Francisco, we're also open to considering remote applicants for this role.

About the team:

The Security team works with infrastructure and feature engineering teams to identify and mitigate risks to the business. We propose, design, plan and implement strategic and tactical security improvements - from developing and deploying new Security tooling to performing architecture reviews and threat modeling. We are trusted to stay one step ahead of malicious actors in a rapidly-changing threat landscape.

About the role:

As part of the Security Team, you'll lead efforts and implement solutions to keep our users' and customers' data private and our systems secure and you'll be involved in all functional areas of Security: engineering and development; advisory and consulting; and detection, alerting, and response. You will collaborate with key stakeholders to harden a complex multi-account AWS environment, as well as an expansive set of corporate systems. Your work will have a significant impact on the security of the entire organization.

In this role, you'llBuild security tooling and automation using Infrastructure as Code and serverless frameworksDevelop alerting and threat detection capabilities in both corporate and production environmentsProvide security expertise across our entire tech stack in the form of design reviews and threat modelingRespond to security events, including isolating, mitigating, and investigating active threatsAdvocate for the security culture of the organization, including collaborating with stakeholders across Infrastructure and Engineering teamsWhat you'll need

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (such as other Engineering disciplines)4+ years of experience in security engineering or DevSecOps, with a focus on AWS and infrastructure securityThorough understanding of secure development best practicesStrong written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiencesProficient in building tools and automation in Python, including testing, documentation, and deploymentExperience with deploying in Kubernetes (EKS preferred); experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) a plusYour own unique talents! for in-person collaboration on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays beginning April 1, 2024. For roles considered remote, this will not apply.

At Foursquare, we are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry and market standards.

Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, and specific office location.

The annual total cash compensation range is

$124,000 - $204,250, howeveractual salaries can vary based on a candidate's qualifications, skills and competencies, as well as location.

Salary is just one component of Foursquare's total compensation package, which includes restricted stock units, multiple health insurance options, and a wide range of benefits!
