About Us:We are an established and growing company looking for a Data Analyst to join our team. Our ideal candidate can transform business data into actionable insights and has experience working with SQL databases and Power BI reporting. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects and help shape our data-driven decision-making process.
Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain SQL views from existing tables to support data analysis and reporting needs.Work closely with the data team and request data needed from source systems.Design and build engaging and informative reports and dashboards using Power BI, ensuring they are user-friendly and meet business requirements.Working with team to make adjustments to reports as requested by business leadersCollaborate with data providers to ensure that necessary data is accurate, available, and optimally structured for analysis and reporting.Provide technical support to team members and stakeholders regarding data queries and Power BI reports.Create and maintain Power BI data models
Examples of Day-to-Day Activities You Might Do:
Meet with technology team on a regular basis over Microsoft Teams or Zoom to review current projects and upcoming reporting needs of the businessCreate SQL views from existing SQL tables, provide feedback on additional data points that may be needed to create desired reportsPerform troubleshooting on reporting discrepancies to help determine where the breakdown is in the data pipeline, and work with the team to resolveBuild Power BI reports from scratch, that include multiple pages, summary views, and ability to drill-through to detail viewsUpdate and convert existing Power BI reports to use newer data sourcesRequired Skills and Qualifications:Proficient in SQL, including creating views and managing databases.Proficient in Power BI, including building reports, models, and writing DAX.Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work independently and in a team, with effective communication skills.Proactive in learning new tools and technologies.
Preferred Skills:Experience with Python, especially in the context of data manipulation and analysis, using tools such as Pandas, or willingness to learn these over time.
