What You Will Be Doing
Responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of all SQL Analysis Services tabular cube within the Firm. Serve as an advisor to PowerBI report developers, providing guidance on dimensional modeling and tabular design best practices.
About The RoleResponsible to ensure alignment between the data analytics platforms (Data warehouse) environment and business requirementsExtends existing and creates new MS SQL Analysis Services Tabular Cubes using new members, measures using DAX scripting languages, tables, relationships, and rolesExtends existing and creates new PowerBI models using new members, measures, tables, relationships, and roles, in direct query and import modelsCreates and delivers end-user training and documentation and provides second-line support to power users who develop reports on behalf of their departmental colleaguesPerforms application deployments, upgrades, and patch planningParticipate and contribute to daily scrum meetingsMaintains awareness of technology developments and makes recommendations to the Manager, Data Analytics ServicesParticipates in software licensing and support agreement discussionsAssists with resolution of escalated incidents and participates in problem management activities. Assumes ownership of level 3 support and troubleshooting of assigned data solutionsAssists in evaluating the business relevance and requirements of projects under considerationMaintain existing data solutions, design and build from the ground up new data solutions including data warehousing dimensional modelsMentor junior developersAssumes additional responsibilities as assignedContributes to the firm's Service Excellence initiative to consistently improve its image internally and externally. Displays professionalism, quality service and a "can do" attitude to internal members/departments of the firm as well as external clients and vendors via electronic and print correspondence, over the telephone and in-person.Required Skills
What You Will Bring
Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to perform advanced research that involves interpretation and analysis of data from a variety of sourcesTranslation of business questions and requirements into reports, views, and SQL queriesExpert knowledge of data warehouse architecture, data design patterns and data transformation best practices in environments of medium to large volume of dataAdvanced experience in tunning T-SQL query performance, identifying the need and creation of SQL indexesAdvanced hands-on experience with T-SQL, data warehouse concepts including dimensional modelingStrong problem-solving and tenacity in creating solutions for complex and performant data challenges while handling hundreds of millions of recordsIntermediate to advance knowledge of DAXKnowledge in at least one scripting language for predictive analytics and data visualization. (R or Python) is a plusHands on expertise with implementation of a MS Analyses Services Cube using the Tabular model and PowerBI data models is requiredWorking knowledge in developing Azure Data Factory is a plusGood knowledge of server hardware, server storage and other infrastructure, client/server applications, and server utilitiesExpert knowledge of SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 and strong T-SQL skills is requiredStrong discipline in following SQL coding styles which improves code readability and supportabilityExperience supporting a 24x7 production environmentAbility to work effectively with both users and technical staff in team-oriented environmentsExcellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnelAbility to work successfully and independently in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadline pressuresWorking knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Microsoft Operations Framework, ISO 9000 or similar process discipline is preferredRequired Experience
8-10 years' experience in data analysis and data warehousing, with significant specialization in one or more areas of the above-mentioned areas of technologyExperience with legal financial data models is a plus5 years of DAX scripting experienceEducation
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; or equivalent work experience
