Truework is on a mission to create trust in every financial transaction. Our core product, Truework Income, provides access to crucial employment and income information needed for mortgage loans, apartment rentals, background checks and the like. We are disrupting a $5B+ industry, previously controlled by legacy credit agencies, with a better product and intense customer focus. We handle hundreds of thousands of income and employment verifications every month, and continue to grow our market share in the mortgage lending and tenant screening markets.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team. At Truework, Senior Software Engineers are expected to be technical leaders for projects and product components. This means you'll lead projects to design, build, and ship new features, capabilities, and even new products that deliver customer value and help us achieve our mission. Your work will span our product stack, from APIs and web applications to our core platform that handles the data processing and business logic of income and employment verification.

We are seeking candidates that are curious, ambitious, intrinsically motivated, and who love building and maintaining software. Our ideal candidates are product-minded, communicate with clarity, and have a track record of shipping early and often.

Finally, we are looking for candidates who want to work together in person: as a San Francisco-based team member, you'll be expected to work from our Financial District office at least two days per week (yes, there's lunch).

At Truework, you would be responsible for:

Designing solutions to assigned problems/projects, together with other engineers on your team as well as collaborators in product, design, and security.Independently implementing high quality technical solutions with minimal supervision.Leading delivery of complex tasks and moderately complex projects.Supporting and actively participating in your team's meetings and ceremonies, and supporting more junior team members.Participating in team on-call rotation (two weeks every three months) and incident response activities that may be required.

What we're looking for:

4+ years of software engineering experience with progressively increasing responsibilityProfessional experience with and intermediate-expert level knowledge of PythonExperience developing and operating web applications deployed on a cloud platformExperience collaborating with product managers and designers to design and deliver valuable products and features to customersExperience leading projects independently, including planning, estimating, committing to deadlines, and handling changes, risks, and roadblocks.Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills

The following skills and experience are a plus:

Experience building and maintaining large Django applicationsExperience with building and operating applications on AWSExperience developing security-sensitive softwareMentoring or coaching other software engineers

Cash Compensation:

Our cash compensation for this role is targeted at $150,000 - $187,000 for candidates based at our HQ in San Francisco. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
