The Sr. Data Governance Analyst is responsible for developing and implementing data governance policies, procedures, and best practices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and data management consistency across the organization.Essential Functions

Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of data governance frameworks and policies that align with the company's data strategy and objectives.Establish data quality standards and metrics, and monitor compliance with these standards.Enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards ensuring consistent data management practices across the company.Provide guidance and support on data governance best practices, data management processes, and data quality improvement to other teams.Create and maintain data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data classification systems to ensure accurate and consistent data definitions.Conduct data assessments and audits to identify data quality issues, data ownership, and data lineage, and develop strategies to resolve them.Design and implement data governance awareness and training programs.Engage with data stewards enhancing our enterprise data catalog and driving its adoption in the company.Conduct data impact assessment for new projects and changes to existing data systems.Stay current with industry best practices and emerging trends in data governance.Collaborate with the key stakeholders and leadership.Support the company’s commitment to protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.The above job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and standards of the position. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or other technical discipline.5+ years of proven experience working as a Data Governance Analyst or in a similar role with data management or data quality.Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, principles, and best practices.In-depth understanding of data management concepts, including data quality, data stewardship, data classification, and metadata management.Experience with data governance tools and technologies.Proficiency in data analysis, data profiling, and data quality assessment.Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to data governance and data privacy.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data-related issues and propose effective solutions.Strong communication skills and ability to efficiently communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Background and drug screen.Preferred Qualifications

Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) certification, Certified Data Professional (CDP) certification, Data Governance Stewardship Professional (DGSP) certification, and/or Certified Information Management Professional (CIMP) certification.Knowledge of RDBS, SQL and Splunk.Prior experience working in payments, financial services or similar regulated industry.Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers. San Francisco, CA in USD per year is: $90,000 - $105,000. This pay scale is subject to change and is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, nor a promise of any specific pay for any specific candidate, which is always dependent on legitimate factors considered at the time of job offer.
