Data Scientist

Summary/ObjectiveAs an Ingo Payments Data Scientist, you will be part of an exciting, dynamic, and growing team that delivers risk mitigation solutions and expertise that has a direct impact on Ingo Payments’ strategic objectives and profitability. In this role, you will be assisting in developing modeling solutions for our instant money products.Specific Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist in data mining, data preparation, feature engineering for Machine Learning models.Perform data analysis using various techniques, e.g. statistical analysis, explanatory analysis, and predictive modeling.Assist the team in building models for use in real-time fraud prevention.Develop ad-hoc and ongoing analysis to support various business stakeholders.Present results and recommendations to internal and external customers in an effective manner.Work closely with technology teams to communicate requirements and ensure quality deliverables of developed analytical solutions.Conduct analytics deep dive using mainly SQL and identify new and innovative fraud detection variables.Skills & QualificationsIntermediate SQL skills.Intermediate skills in R/Python required.Strong understanding of statistical concepts; coursework in statistics.Ability to communicate and tailor complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other related discipline required.Minimum 1 year of experience in a Data Analyst role required.Experience in financial services, ecommerce, or other relevant experience in the analytics community strongly preferred.Experience with image models/processing preferred.
