that power our core products and inform strategic decisions to advance that mission.Data Products include, but are not limited to, data models and ETL pipelines, reporting dashboards, business and product impact sizing, decision/ROI/trade-off frameworks, ML-based classification/lead scoring models.As one of the founding Data Scientists, we are looking for an individual to grow, develop, and define what the "data scientist" role will look like at Middesk for the years to come.

You will have the opportunity to both build and lead.This role will be primarily responsible for leading and building algorithm-powered Data Products, with our Data Science and Foundation Engineering teams, that our customers use to inform/productionize their most critical decisions. This role will report to the Data Science Lead.What You Will Achieve

As one of the founding Data Scientists, you will get your hands dirty in building the most impactful Data Products that our customers and internal teams need to inform/productionize their most critical decisions:You will design and implement strategies to improve data coverage and match rates, our ability to match addresses and business names, for our Business Verification product. This involves improving our core Entity Resolution system among other initiatives.You will design and implement strategies to automate more of our Business Verification product delivery and get results back to customers faster with more efficiency and accuracy. This involves improving our index search algorithms among other initiatives.You will design and implement strategies to build proprietary datasets that will differentiate our Business Verification product and unlock new customer use cases.You will help develop and execute against the longer-term Data Science roadmap. This involves advancing our experimentation framework, data/insights accessibility, and tooling.You will be an important part of building out a function from 0 to 1 and influence its culture, processes, and identity within the broader organization.Experience that would help you succeed

(Note, we don't expect you to spike in all aspects, but to grow there in time):Ability to deliver Data Products end-to-endTop-notch analytical skills to go deep, break down, and solve complex, ambiguous problemsTechnically proficient in uncovering insights and building data products that leverage those insightsProven ability to collaborate cross-functionallyExcellent written and oral communication skillsFull-stack Data Scientist with domain expertise in Algorithms/ML but can stretch across Analytics and Analytics Engineering domains when neededGreat business judgement and able to prioritize initiatives effectivelyExercise effective team leadership by raising the bar with an intrinsic motivation to do one’s best work for our customers; you care about winning with the team and are able to chart the path to get there.Qualities that we are looking for
