Job Description

Analyzes and interprets data to help transform and improve Louisiana Medicaid beneficiaries' healthcare outcomesProvides actionable direction to new vendorsAssists Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and Medicaid program staff to transform and improve the most critical state Medicaid government healthcare datasetsLeverage large amounts of complex, multi-source data to inform day-to-day management of the Louisiana Medicaid programProduce analytical reports on measures and metrics set by departmental prioritiesPrepare code and queries using the Medicaid Administrative Reporting System (MARS) data warehouse or other systems developed or used to track Medicaid dataTranslate complex quantitative and statistical analysis for non-technical staff membersMaintains data dictionary by entering and revising definitionsMaintain a working knowledge of statistical methods, relevant computer software, and other technologies requires to perform responsibilitiesIdentify and correct systematic data errors on beneficiary, encounter, claims, and provider registry dataDevelop long and short range plans for staff organization, training, and equipment needsConduct an annual performance evaluation for each subordinate, setting future goals and strategiesConduct recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and professional development of assigned staffPerform other tasks as directed.QUALIFICATIONSREQUIRED:

Bachelor's Degree or 6 years of professional experience in lieu of degreeTwo years of professional experience in data analytics/analysis in statistics, sampling or data analytics utilizing statistical programming languages such as SQL, SAS, R, Python or other industry standardExcellent analytical skills, effective organizational and time management skillsStrong verbal and written communications skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and nontechnical audiencesGreat attention to detail and follow up

DESIRED:

Advanced degreeBachelor's degree in computer science or related field which emphasized statistics, sampling or data analyticsThree years of professional experience in data analytics/analysisThree years of professional experience with Medicaid program support or system developmentRelevant industry certifications (CCA Data Analyst, IBM Data Science Professional, SAS Certified Advanced Analytics Professional, etc.)Required Attachments
