Senior Data Engineer–NIKE, Inc., Beaverton, OR. Design and build reusable components, frameworks and libraries at scale to support analytics products; design and implement product features in collaboration with business and Technology stakeholders; identify and solve issues concerning data management to improve data quality; clean, prepare and optimize data for ingestion and consumption; collaborate on the implementation of new data management projects and re-structure of the current data architecture; implement automated workflows and routines using workflow scheduling tools; build continuous integration, test-driven development and production deployment frameworks; review design, code, test plans and dataset implementation performed by other data engineers in support of maintaining data engineering standards; analyze and profile data for designing scalable solutions; troubleshoot data issues and perform root cause analysis to proactively resolve product and operational issues; develop architecture and design patterns to process and store high volume data sets; participate in an Agile / Scrum methodology to deliver high quality software releases through Sprints; propose architectural solutions and build ETL design documents, such as low-level design and high-level design documents, for the business use cases; and participated in resource intake that provide solutions and resolutions to stakeholders to solve project issues, in the setup of teams for smooth execution, and presenting project demos to clients and Stakeholders. Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S., except from AK, AL, AR, DE, HI, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MT, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, RI, SD, VT, WV, and WY.Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or in an engineering-related occupation.

Experience must include the following:Data warehousing platform in Datastage, Informatica, Oracle SQL, Sybase SQL, Db2 and SQL;

Database related concepts such as data modelling and database design;

Data warehouse and RDBMS such as SQL Server;

ETL development, performance tuning, training and mentoring.

IBM WebSphere Certified ETL developer;

Certified Oracle SQL and Teradata developer;

Scheduling jobs tools including Tivoli, Control M and Crontab;

Unix Shell Scripting and ETL Process Automation using Shell Programming;

Industrial domains such as Healthcare, Life Sciences and Manufacturing, and Logistics & Retail Services; and

Cognos, Tableau, and Business Objects; and

Software Development Lifecycle and ETL architectural concepts.

Position also required 3 years of experience including the following:

Python;

Spark and Pyspark;

Airflow (Orchestration tool);

Source control tools including GitHub and related CI/CD processes;

AWS environments and tools such as EMR, S3, Kinesis, Redshift, and Athena;

DataBricks Platform including Lakehouse;

Snowflake;

Real Time Analytics tools and technologies including Kafka and Apache Storm; and

Hadoop architecture and components including Hadoop distributed file system (HDFS), Hive Hql, Yarn and Sqoop process.
