About the role:

We are seeking a Network & System Administrator to maintain a reliable, secure and scalable global infrastructure for our Somerville Office. The candidate should be able to deploy, configure, support and monitor all active network and systems equipment to ensure efficient operation.

Responsibilities:Provide third level support and troubleshooting for our network and systemsManage day-to-day support of servers, SaaS applications, networking, and IT ServicesAssist with and lead project implementations, changes and improvements to environmentAssure a high level of reliability and performance through systems monitoring and infrastructure managementAnalyze and recommend improvements to the existing environmentKeep up with relevant trends to optimize and enhance SmartBear environmentRecommend, implement and support enterprise hardware, systems, and/or toolsEnsure system availability; regularly patch, upgrade and perform backups for all systemsMaintain deployments & upgrades, Windows and Linux servers, as well as network infrastructureRemediate vulnerabilities and maintain compliance with policies and proceduresCraft clear and concise documentation and knowledge base articlesHelp to develop and maintain IT policiesSupport, automate and provision systems and business applicationsCoordinate with international IT Infrastructure teams to develop global solutionsRecommend, implement and support enterprise hardware, systems and toolsAssist in developing the overall performance and capability of internal support teams through mentoring and knowledge sharingDomestic and/or International travel may be required.Participate in an On-Call rotationCompetencies:

Minimum 3+ years' experience in System Administration in a Corporate environmentStrong technical, analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills required.Strong IT foundational knowledge and understanding of core network technologies required.Ability to learn and willingness to take on more complex tasksExperience deploying, maintaining, and optimizing a distributed server environment, including Windows and Linux server operating systems.Experience working within a global enterprise environment supporting the business needs of multiple offices in different countries and regions.Understanding of network technologies, including TCP/IP, routing protocols, VLANs, routing, switching, wireless and firewall policiesWorking knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Entra, Microsoft 365, Group Policy, DHCP and DNSWorking knowledge of AWS and Microsoft Azure platforms desiredWorking knowledge Veeam desiredScripting skills are a plusThis role is hybrid out of our Somerville, MA Headquarters.
