Job Description:
To support the Analysis and Design phase of the IPSIS project we are looking to secure a Senior Infrastructure Architect who will partner with Commonwealth IT staff and be responsible for discovery and documentation of several agencies' IT infrastructure blueprints. This person will serve as the technical liaison between agencies partnering to provide services to residents. They will work closely with agency business units and IT teams as well as the infrastructure teams during this phase of the project.
Key responsibilities of this role include
documenting enterprise IT infrastructure for the agencies to capture the current state by describing the structure of the existing IT landscape, available IT assets, technology stack, and explaining the connections between them. These artifacts will be used as the basis to determine solution design options available to us in our efforts to meet the project goals of interagency system integration.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:• Partnering with various IT teams, primarily within EOTSS, to document the technology system architecture and functional design used by various agencies.• Assisting management and stakeholders in evaluating the current state architecture and sharing recommendations on how the agencies can best use their IT assets effectively• Documenting the process using appropriate architectural models• Generating graphic representations and abstracts of the system architecture models• Evaluating existing IT systems for exposure or weaknesses that could compromise performance, security or efficiency• Identifying shared infrastructure options to optimize information management systems and data sharing and analytics
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fieldSeven to ten years of experience in IT systems administration, software application development, or a related fieldStrong team player with ability to develop successful working relationships with various IT departments across a large enterpriseInfrastructure architect experience with proven ability in creating IT systems and/or IT architecture design documents, preferably within a large government enterprise, is a mustExtensive knowledge of computer hardware and networking systemsFamiliarity with programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, SQL, SAP, Oracle, and C# a plusFamiliarity with operating systems such as Windows, UNIX, and databases like MySQL a plusExperience with cloud computing and cloud technologiesStrong knowledge of IT infrastructure and governance modelsComfortable working with management and IT professionals at all levels to solicit information and complete analysisStrong written and verbal communications skills
