$18.90 per hour.GENERAL STATEMENT

:The Salvation Army is a branch of the Christian Church, and the goal of all programs is the spiritual regeneration of all people.The Salvation Army Center of Hope (COH) Program provides 24/7 enhanced shelter and related services for adults experiencing homelessness. Participants are typically people who have been identified as high-needs adults who are eligible for supportive permanent housing. Many clients have chronic and acute mental illness, active addiction issues, and/or trauma. This is a low-barrier harm reduction program. Advocates are responsible for providing direct service to the participants, assisting with the goal of moving participants quickly into permanent housing, and fostering a team environment among center staff and volunteers.WORKING CONDITIONS:This position may have frequent in person contact with people from diverse backgrounds who may be angry, hostile, confused or frustrated. The worker may be exposed to different inside and outside environmental conditions. This position requires the employee to work in an environment where there may be exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious material. Other exposures could include cleaning supplies, chemicals involved in pest control, paint and other materials used in building maintenance. Working conditions may include interruptions with angry persons and exposure to computers and digital touchscreen displays.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

:Responsible for weekly scheduling of all Center staff with the support of the Center Coordinator.Collect and compile Incident Reports; give to and discuss with Center Coordinator to resolve any issues.Primary contact for Center related polices and procedures.Assist with new guest intakes and case management, when needed.Oversee inventory supplies for CenterAssists with the distribution of linens, hygiene supplies, and other items, when neededEnsure that guest list is accurate and completePermit only controlled access to the CenterMaintain department logsCompile and reconcile month end statistics reports and give send to Corps Officer and Social Services Specialist.Evacuate the building when necessary, ensuring all guests are accounted forReview reports of all incidents and accidentsReport any cases of suspected abuse or injury immediately to a supervisor or office staffReport any needed repairs or supply requests to Center Coordinator and/or corps officer.Customer service mindsetEnforce building and program rules and policies.General knowledge of business protocolsPerform other functions as requested

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

:Able to hand write legibly.Able to stand for sustained periods of time.Able to walk the entire building and ascend and descend stairs quickly to move from one floor to another in order to respond to emergency situations.Ability to lift, move and/or carry up to 40 pounds.Attend staff meetings, workshops, retreats, and in-service classes as provided.Maintain accurate record of hours worked and turn in timesheets on schedule.Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge, and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations.Contribute to and support a positive, team-oriented work environment.Maintain a safe and comfortable Center environment, including physical set-up and light janitorial duties, when necessary.Work as a team with other colleagues on shift and be able to work independently without direct supervision.Support and contribute to a creative, collaborative, and respectful environment that promotes teamwork.Able to make independent decisions and apply sound judgment in performing job duties.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

:A high school diploma or GED equivalent requiredAbility to speak and write the English languageA high degree of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalismComputer experience in Windows environment (Microsoft Office), Publisher, Access, and social media platformsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Previous work experience in programs that work with high-needs participants.CPR certified2 years of customer service experience
