Our client, a forward thinking insurance company, is seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer/Architect to join their team, hit the ground running, and help drive to success. This is a permanent/direct hire position.

Construct a holistic view of the cloud data infrastructure needed to run the business and collaborate with technology and business partners to incorporate that into their roadmapDesigning and developing while ensuring availability, scalability and reliability.Strategic planning and execution of all aspects of data architecture including establishment of current and future state architecture and transformational roadmap in alignment with business strategyInstituting a data architecture and governance discipline to advance rapid delivery of products and data insightsDiscover, design and develop data flows, data pipelines, databases, and data lakes, to support the organization's data needs.Design data models, data standards, and business glossaryDevelop and optimize Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to extract data from various sources, transform it into a consistent format, and load it into the data ecosystem.Researches new technologies while keeping up-to-date with technological developments in relevant areas of Data Governance, Master Data, and Data QualityDesired Skills/Experience

Previous experience engineering and leading data initiatives (data profiling, improvement, accuracy, completeness, integrity, security, stewardship, and governance)Proficient skills and knowledge of data quality tools, data quality disciplines and technologies to standardize and maintain control over master dataKnowledge of modeling conventions for both data (data models) and process (data flow diagrams and process models)Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, and experience with SQL and database technologies.Solid understanding of distributed computing principles and big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive.Experience with cloud-based data platforms and services, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.Experience with ETL, data modelingWhy consider this position?
